Lost Wallet Found After 18 Years

An elevator repairman found an Austin woman's burgundy leather wallet in an elevator mechanical room at a recreation center. As this article explains, he was able to estimate the age of the wallet to be over 18 years old by the expiration dates of coupons inside the wallet. He was nice enough to track down the woman on the internet and return it to her.

As you would expect, the woman was quite surprised. She thinks the wallet had been stolen. The article makes it sound like the woman doesn't remember it well. Seems like if I had lost my wallet or thought that it was stolen, it would stick in my mind even after 2 decades.

In addition to the coupons, other contents of her wallet included some 22-cent stamps.

Here is a pictorial of a wallet lost 40 years earlier--but it does not indicate who found the man's wallet? It looks virtually intact:

I'm sure there must be a story behind this, as there evolves with every wallet!

Thank God for "good Samaritans!" The man is glad to be reunited with his trusty wallet.
